Pigness II, , paintstick on plastic, 24" x 36", 11/25/2003
The plaster piggy bank was an item picked up while waiting at the Mex-ican/American border upon returning home from Tihuana. I borrowed the pig skull on the right from a colleague at Solano College for a Halloween classroom subject. I had been wear- ing the elephant trunk while teaching the class, until I lent it to a student, who later perched it on the pig skull. I found that inspirational! Pig snouts, after all, were the evolutionary pre- cursors of elephant trunks.
